Bluebird Day

Wow ,   perfect day at Blue.  Lots more terrain open and fantastic conditions.

2016-2017 - New Season - Day 1

This is the 4th day Blue has been open and the first day of the new season for me.    Blowing Snow and coldish temps were the flavor of the day.   Conditions were good but the terrain was limited but growing quickly.  Skied Tranquility,  Smart Alec, Legacy and Village Way.   Visibility was a bit of a problem it was mostly because of the flat light but getting to close to a snow gun made for instant icing!     Only hung in for a couple of hours ... better days are ahead!

One last 2015-1016 outing ...I tried!

Thats a wrap on the Ski Season.   I woke up early to ideal conditions Sunday morning.    I was out the door and well on my way to make first tracks until the Corolla packed it in ..a transmission failure that left me stranded at the intersection of Grey Rd 30 and Grey Rd 12.    The tow truck operator gave me a ride home and I unloaded the gear when he dropped me off.     It was only slightly after 9am and I thought of jumping in  Carrie's car but then I realized that my "5X7" pass was hung around the mirror of the car that was being towed to Walkerton...I took that as a sign that perhaps I should call it a season!

Groomed Morning

First tracks at Blue this morning.   Was there for when the lifts started turning and I wasn't dissapointed.  Skied until it started to get busy then called it a day after a couple for great hours on the hill.

Cold Night at Blue

-20C when I pulled into the parking lot last night.  Met up with Patrick at the Silver Bullet then adventually Usama at Graduate.   Did a bunch of runs in Happy Valley then I had to split.

90 minutes of driving for 90 minutes of Skiing last night.   Dumb ass me forgot my googles ... it wasnt cold but there was freezing rain ,  ice pellets and then snow.   Yeah it hurt ...eyeballs were a wee bit sore last night and even today!!!   Tried to meet up with Patrick Powder Possy but missed them waiting at the clock tower at 6:15...next time.  I really don't mind skiing solo.  Streamed my favorite internet radio Okemos Brewing and just enjoyed moving to the tunes.   Would have like to have stayed a bit longer but the lack of goggles made things less then ideal.
