Back at Blue

 Blue is open! 

Wednesday  Dec 21 -  started shortly after 9 on Tranquility but quickly headed to Sunrise Cruiser after meeting up with Todd and Daryl.  It was either Skiers right or left at the Southern Chair with almost no snow cover in the middle.   I don't think I have ever skied on such a small base  if they had 10 cm I would be surprised!  It was all that good but Skiers left , Sunrise was OK.   Crowds really built quickly so I bailed  a little after 10:30. 

Thursday Dec 22 -  It was bombing Sunrise Cruiser for a solid 2 hours right at first tracks.   Allot less people and much better conditions with natural snow falling in addition to the man made stuff.   It was a much better session! 

Season Start - Whistler Dec 9, 10 and 11

 Headed to Whistler with Partick, Daryl and Todd meeting up with Chris when we got to Vancouver.  The plane was the  same as last year 2 travel days and 3 days on the mountain.     Only 7th Heaven was open the firat two days Peak opened up for a short time on the 2nd day but was quickly closed due to high winds.  The 3rd day,  Saturday we waited 90 minutes in a line to upload on the Blackcomb Chair.  The wait was long but very worth it as we had a really good powder day.   High Alpine was closed  due to high winds and the Peak to Peak wasn't running so we stuck to mid mountain Blackcomb and had a blast off Piste.   Working on videos and will add to this blog as I get them done.

Whistler March 2021 - It was epic!

 

And so the season ends....

 The 2020-2021 ski season ended Good Friday with another province wide shutdown  due to covid.

Spring skiing at Blue

 Did a Friday Eve session with Partick and Marc Friday.   It was super icy but we found one really good run the North side of Tranquility. 

 

On Saturday I took Robin my son and 7 year old  Aubrey to Blue Saturday Eve.   I gave " Aubs" a Snowboard for Christmas she has been practicing in the yard but this was her first time at a resort.    More to follow on this post!

5 Days of insane big mountain skiing and snowboarding, 77 runs completed, 100,000ft plus of vertical descent, 182km traveled on a snowboard, multiple crashes, one near death experience to remind you how precious life is. Possibly the greatest ski trip we've ever completed. Looking forward to doing it all again next season.

Blue at night

 Working mids this week!  Slept OK today so I felt like making a few turns and headed to Blue for a couple of hours of up and down no wait skiing.  The snow was really good,  icy and windy at the top but once past that area it was really good.
