You never know!

 Old man winter has not  been very generous to us yet... warm temps and lack of snow last week.    Wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised today  the conditions were actually quite awesome...hats off to the groomers!    Made it to North ,  Hogs Back and Schaus were the only ones open there wasn't much snow elsewhere on that part of the Hill.   Had a good 3 hours of up and down before heading home at noon.   

Day 2

Working Eves again this week.   Hit the slopes before the lifts started turning and Skied for a solid 3 hours today.   More runs were open this week ,  Cruiser rocked ... conditions were pretty good just about everywhere.  It was all groomed ,  -3C the surface was hard but consistent. 

Blue's opening day November 30, 2018

Was on the hill for 20 minutes before it was suppose to open st 9am.  Only Cruiser and L Hill were open ,  L Hill had great corduroy trail for the first hour then it got Skied out.    It was a great start to another Ski season .

April 5th ...a little bit of snow and some -10C temps overnight made for some fantastic April Skiing today at Blue.   Was out with Patrick and Eric took tons of video and will edit and post shortly!

Thursday March 16

What a difference a week makes.  Thursday March 16 was the second time this year I arrived as the lifts started turning and it was well worth the effort to get there.   Temps stated at -10 but quickly warmed up to freezing with the Sun.   The snow was cold and groomed perfectly ,  it was soft ,  true and fast with zero ice!    Spent most of my time on Cruiser but headed to the Orchard for a few runs as well as the lift line run on Tranquility.  It was March Break so it started to get super busy around 11am so I called it a day shortly there after!    Looking forward to some great spring Skiing with cold temps at night and comfortable temps during the day.  hard to believe how quickly the season comes to a close....winter is a bit too short!

Well I tried....

Headed to Blue this afternoon and hit the hill before the Sunset.   Conditions were not very good I tried to find something that was OK but gave up after an hour and headed home!   

Thursday Night

Wow ,  sure have lucked out this year ,  good conditions ( a wee bit cold -12C ) and very few folks made for an enjoyable evening under the lights at Blue . 

The Sun made me do it!

Working mids , woke up after not enough sleep but it was sunny and warm so I decided to hit the slopes.   The air was a few degrees above freezing but the snow was still cold so it made for some pretty good machine groomed powder ...super hard underneath.  Met up with Patrick ,  Carl and his Girlfriend.   Thanks to Patrick I have a few pictures from the evening ....

Blue Thursday!

Working eves,  woke up felt like hitting the slopes so I was alpining away by 11am!    Great conditions,   machine groomed granular.  Did Cruiser then headed over to " The Orchard" and did every run once before hitting Smart Alec/Tranquility then Doug.     Spent just shy of 2 hours on the hill not doing the same run twice.   Came to the conclusion that I really like going down but the the up in the chair ...not so fun!

Wow evening

It was cold and it was windy but it was snowing like crazy making for some stellar conditions at Blue last night!    Once again I experimented around with thinks wearing two layers over the head and neck using my partial balaclava covering the face and nose it worked out pretty good in the -20C temp with 50 km  winds,   Skied mostly Cruiser ,   it was effortless ...tracks were covered up as soon as they were made.  The snow was actually drifting uphill and sticking!     Only hung in there for a couple of hours a little worried about the drive home and it was warranted .  Blue , Banks and Ravena all the way to Beaver Valley was tenuous at best!
